Each platform has different native accessibility capabilities and implementation complexity.

Title III applies to all ecommerce websites. Deadline: April 24, 2026 for entities serving populations over 50,000 [citation:1][citation:8].

In effect since June 28, 2025. Applies to all ecommerce selling to EU consumers, regardless of HQ location. Uses EN 301 549 (WCAG 2.1), updating to 2.2 soon [citation:3][citation:6].

Equality Act 2010. Post-Brexit, UK maintains its own accessibility requirements aligned with WCAG 2.2 AA.

Accessible Canada Act (ACA) and Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) enforce WCAG 2.1 AA for public and private sectors.

CAPTCHAs and complex password rules must have alternatives. Allow pasting into password fields [citation:7].
Don't ask for the same information twice. Auto-populate shipping address as billing address [citation:1].
Any drag-and-drop feature (e.g., sliders) must have a single-click alternative [citation:7].
Contact info, FAQ, or chat must appear in the same order across all pages [citation:7].
